Cities / Europe

Six photographers – Marina Ballo Charmet, Cezary Bodzianowski, Jean-Louis Garnell, Aino Kannisto, Armin Linke and Klavdij Sluban – have been invited to give their visual interpretation of cities that express an idea of a place beyond borders, where clarity, superimposition and opacity are revealed to create an image of Europe, or to capture a Europe on which the sun is setting and which is about to be reborn in a new, different form.
These six photographers have been chosen to demonstrate this openness and to show the quality and quantity of possible images.  Their work is very different and this diversity contributes to research into the symbols of cities and a future European identity.
The commissioned works will be the property of Reggio Emilia Town Council and will be shown in six exhibitions set up in important sites around this historic city.
