“SPAZIO SESSANTADUE, REGGIO EMILIA”

Lorenza Lucchi Basili is presenting a photographic work never seen before for European Photography. Reggio Emilia 2007. It was produced during the final phase of building the Reggio Emilia toll motorway bridge, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. In these colour photographs the artist’s eye reveals the plastic and aesthetic significance along with the strongly symbolic value of an architecture whose shape, from afar, appears to be a sun rising over the new Po Valley landscape, an interesting hybrid of countryside, terrain vague, industrial environs, motorway and high-speed train.
