The
Panizzi Library Photo Archive is organising three days of seminars on the protection and conservation of contemporary photographic heritage, as part of the Fotografia Europea. Reggio Emilia 2007 event. The seminars are aimed at those who work in libraries and museums and university students on arts and heritage courses. It aims to present new techniques and promote basic criteria for conservation in the digital and Internet era.
Participants will be given course materials and offered guided visits to the exhibitions.
Seminar A – 3rd May
Conserving Contemporary Photography
Lecturer: Anne Cartier-Bresson Director of ARCP (Atelier de Restauration et de Conservation des Photographies de la Ville de Paris)
Seminar B – 4th May
Conserving new supports for digital images
Lecturer: Stefano Gambari (Head of the Casa della Memoria Library and of the Libraries Institute in Rome)
Seminar C – 5th May
How to run a digital project
Lecturer: Alberto Salarelli (Lecturer in "Basic IT Sciences" on the degree course in Artistic, Theatrical, Cinematographic and New Media Heritage at Parma university)
Seminars will run with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 40 participants
