PIETRO IORI
Pietro Iori obtained his diploma at the Bologna Fine Arts Academy in 1998. His research follows a conceptual theme through different environments and has a typically contemporary slant. His work begins with references to Dada and is inspired by the harmony of Renaissance graphics, leading to the use of analogue photography, video and installation. Each material used in his work is decontextualised to acquire new connotations.
From 1997 - 1998 he took part in an exchange project with other artists in Berlin and participated in two collective exhibitions. In 1997 he was chosen to represent the painting section for Emilia Romagna at the XXVI Art Biennale in Alatri. In 1998 his work was shown at the Institute of Germanic Culture in Bologna and in 2004 at the French Cultural Institute in Berlin. Together with other young artists, he assisted in the production of “Whirls and Twirls 1”, a wall drawing by Sol Lewitt at the Panizzi Library in Reggio Emilia. His work has been shown in both personal and numerous collective exhibitions such as “ Un cuscino per sognare” at the White Box Gallery, Munich, 2004 and “Video weekend” at Rosanna Chiessi’s Dispari e Dispari gallery in Reggio Emilia.
