ERMANNO FORONI “ROMANIA. SIGHETU MARMA TIEI”

Ermanno Foroni produced these images during his third journey to Romania in May 2006; a journey undertaken with a precise objective and structured project: that of documenting life in a centre for street children in Sighet, a city on the border with the Ukraine.
It is clear for Foroni that if an orphanage exists and if there is a need for a place where children can be housed, fed, educated and helped to prepare for the world of work, there must be an underlying situation of social and economic difficulty.
