The afternoons of the three central days will see talks by leading experts from the world of culture. On Friday 2nd May, the philosopher and psychoanalyst Umberto Galimberti will look at the theme of Il Corpo in Occidente (The Western Body) and its ambivalence in our culture’s history. On Saturday 3rd May, the philosopher Adriana Cavarero, a leading exponent on theories of sexual differences, will analyse the female body, exploring the changing imagery of women in a talk entitled Bella senz'anima (Soulless Beauty). On Sunday 4th May, Derrick De Kerckhove, an expert in connective intelligence, will explore the virtual world to illustrate The Mind of Touch; how hyper-technology in its forms of ‘connection’ heightens the senses and touch in particular, conditioning our experience of the world.
