Writers invited to Fotografia Europea 2008 will give three readings accompanied by images and music, led by Alberto Bertoni, at 6pm in Piazza Casotti. Laura Pugno (2nd May) will read from her novel Sirene, centred on the mythological, yet extremely real figures of mermaids, whose imaginary bodies are portrayed in Elio Mazzacane’s photography. Walter Siti (3rd May) will offer the text Sul nudo ossessivo, on the subtle difference in perversion, between passion and love, written for Fotografia Europea. With Vitaliano Trevisan’s text Madre con cuscino, the author will project archive photographs by Enrico Mitrovich (4th May), giving form to a noir story centred on the presence of bodies within the family, on hidden criminal pathology and apparent normality.
