Fotografia Europea will include many activities aimed at education and training. There will be two projects for children, young people and families.
The first, organised by Reggio Children, is an exhibition at the Centro Internazionale Loris Malaguzzi of the works produced during some teaching workshops on the photographer’s gaze at various schools around the town. The same space will host workshops dedicated to the theme of photography at the "raggio di luce" (ray of light) atelier.
Another project, organised by Giannino Stoppani from Bologna in collaboration with Reggio Emilia Civic Museums, is a photography exhibition by Michel Pintado (at Palazzo Chierici, Piazza Fontanesi) on the world of toys: a series of photographs that recount the world of the toy through a story of bodies, in a magical and evocative universe. As part of the festival, the Atelier Fotografico, which was a success in last year’s edition, will reopen in via San Rocco 1, Reggio Emilia, with a packed programme of workshops and ateliers open to a public of young children and schools.
For those working in the arts and university students, the Biblioteca Panizzi Photo Library in collaboration with the Reggio Emilia University Media Library is organising three days of seminars on the protection and conservation of historic and contemporary photographic heritage. The three seminars will see the participation of Anne Cartier-Bresson, director of the Atelier de Restauration et de Conservation des Photographies (ARCP) in Paris, Alberto Salarelli, lecturer on the IT Science Foundation Course at Parma University and Silvia Berselli, lecturer in restoration at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and director of the Photography Restoration and Conservation Centre in Milan.
At the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia Inside will organise different workshops entitled Immagini in Movimento (Images in Movement) and Arena Creativity Contest. The first will take an in-depth look at the themes of photography, video and graphics, while the second will be an improvised match in graphics and photo retouching.
