Pier Luigi Sgarbi looks at walls, the crumbling and worn out walls of villages in the South of Italy; walls that are brightly coloured, that flake into cracks and flaws, becoming porous, encrusted and infested. A second skin that is both stone and body, made up of deep wrinkles and crumbling veils, of seductive somatic experiences that carry pieces of life, stories and memories, stratified in the mesh of plaster and brought to light by the camera lens.
