In these beautiful, unpublished images by Fabian, young, sinuous bodies full of graceful energy dance and balance against a clear, terse, luminous sky, enclosed in a dual ‘eye’. This is the eye of the camera lens and that of the airy architecture of Santiago Calatrava’s bridge over the Autostrada del Sole, the motorway close to Reggio Emilia. It is a rounded opening, inspired by those of Renaissance temples, where we see weightless male and female dancers tightly embracing like the tight cables of the bridge that ascend towards the clouds, suspended between earth and sky.
