VOCE DI SPERANZA CURDA

Over fifteen years of war and an assiduous and ferocious policy of cultural assimilation on the part of the Turkish government has brought Kurdish ethnicity to the brink of cultural extinction.  More than 37,000 Kurds were killed, thousands of villages were destroyed by the army and hundreds of thousands of Kurds were forced to leave their homes. This is a photographic journey through one of the oldest and at the same time most unknown Indo-European cultures that is once more seeing a faint glimmer of hope.
