This is an artistic study by the two photographers Fabio Mezzani and Alessandra Calò, investigating the spaces of community life. The human presence and absence in the city, the places of social exclusion, like the former Psychiatric Institution of San Lazzaro and the former Judicial Psychiatric Hospital of Reggio Emilia, are the topics of this cultural, visual, and aesthetic study. They are the record of a memory, celebrated in some cases, and stifled in others because it is uncomfortable but nevertheless proof of a civil and historical heritage to be rediscovered through the medium of photography.
