Bella senz’anima. Figurazioni del corpo femminile. (Soulless beauty. Depicting the Female Body)
Symbolic patriarchal order assigns the body to women and the soul (rationale) to men. According to tradition the female body is an object of male desire but it is also the maternal womb that generates and the hand that rocks the cradle. Today the image of women has changed. We are perhaps soulless beauties, but above all we want to be beautiful for ourselves i.e. to happily free our soul.

Sul nudo ossessivo (On the Obsessive Nude)
Writing centred on an obsession with the body. This is the obsession of the gaze caressed by writing, capable of distinguishing between perversion, passion and love. The gaze, together with writing, captures both the power of the body builder and the soft abandoned fragility of dejected nudity.

I bambini di Bangkok, is Silvia Benassi’s first novel, edited by Reggio Emilia Town Council and distributed free. It is not only a documentary about the world of voluntary work, but through fragments of writing it tells the story of humanity adrift, a ‘minor story’ of ‘minors’. The memory of the children, together with the author’s reflection on herself and on the world recall striking Polaroid snapshots
