Ghirri di Musica: Lucio Dalla in trio. A memory for music, words and images

Ghirri di musica narrates the artistic dialogue between Luigi Ghirri and Lucio Dalla, which marked the creative and personal experience of two masters of photography and contemporary music. In concert form, it returns with the exhibition held in Bologna in 2008 and which gathered together the photos of Luigi Ghirri taken over the years an in many different places, following his friend Lucio Dalla on the music road, on his many journeys to distant countries. A memory for words, music and images which aims to study the bond between photography and songs, and to narrate this sound and visual landscape which unfolds between the lands of the Po and the world: places which are first and foremost the immobile landscapes of childhood and the formative years, and which become the landscapes in movement of travels and knowledge. A concert which traces the steps of what Dalla defined “photographs set to music”, “the internal sound of Ghirri’s work” and, together, what Ghirri meant when he spoke of “images for music”, the coincidence between the work of the photographer and the intuitions of the singer-songwriter: “Songs and photographs seem to me to be small illuminations, visionary flashes which give themselves up to us in order to become part of our life.” A “story set in the frame of suspended time” and therefore fully in line with the guiding thread of Fotografia europea 2009: eternity, the dilated time of the photograph (and maybe also of the song)
