Rendez-vous. Dedicated to Jean Baudrillard

Rendez-vous. Dedicated to Jean Baudrillard
Marine Baudrillard, Jean’s wife, Jean-Paul Curnier, musician, and Ludovic Leonelli, writer, share the profound relationships which bound them to the philosopher.
Alongside the exhibition of Jean Baudrillard’s photographs, this spontaneous and intimate appointment sees three of his closest friends talking about the author who recently passed away, avoiding all forms of grief and commemoration, but rather seeking to make the vivacity of his thought come to life once more. Behind them, projected onto three screens, Jean Baudrillard’s photographs pass slowly by, the images of his universe and the objects that were familiar to him. The three stars of this event, each in terms of the relationship they enjoyed with the artist, discuss the traces that Jean Baudrillard left in their lives. The conference is introduced by Jean Baudrillard’s own voice, which in the video Vanishing Point expresses his thoughts in images and words. Hosted by Elio Grazioli and Vanni Codeluppi.

Musical conversation with Jean Baudrillard
An original production for Fotografia europea 2009, this triptych work comes over as a “conversation” in which the interlocutors dialogue with extracts chosen from the work Vanishing point. The event stars Jean-Paul Curnier, reading the texts, Yves Robert (trombone and musical composition) and Stéfanus Vivens (keyboard, percussion and digital sound). Like a game which mixes form and content, the ideas continually flow into each other and the musical dialogue comes to life and changes direction all the time. The aim is to relive Jean Baudrillard’s emotion, enthusiasm and irony in the form of sound, transmitting them through a musical register, constantly relating with the text and the voice. Sound accompanies the changing light, alternating the musical composition with and the pure improvisation of free jazz.
