Eternity Time in the image

 
Under the cosy portico of Piazza Casotti, the authors of Eternity. The time of the image debate with the curators of the exhibitions to examine the various aspects of the poetics of each one and the guiding threads of Fotografia Europea 2009.

Time in the image
Elio Grazioli illustrates the general layout of his project for Fotografia Europea 2009, Time in the image. After a presentation of the works on show by Jean Baudrillard and Franco Vimercati, Grazioli chats with Balthasar Burkhard and Joan Fontcuberta on their opposing ways of seeing and interpreting time in the image. The first, contemplative and classic, the second.immersed in new technologies

Lo scandalo del vuoto
Adriana Polveroni presents the works of Giuseppe Pietroniro in which time is frozen in the pictures of empty rooms filled by the images of the very same voids.
 
To follow
Giovanna Calvenzi, Melina Mulas and Laura Serani  illustrate the collective exhibition Clear Light: the project created to remember the Dalai Lama’s 50 years of exile. The exhibition contains photos by 55 Italian photographers who each donated a work, images which have represented fundamental stages in their creative evolution, each with a short written explanation of the reasons for their choice.

infinito fa rumore, eternità fa silenzio
Gabi Scardi talks to Maria Papadimitriou about infinito fa rumore, eternità fa silenzio, the public work of art commissioned from the Greek artist for Fotografia Europea, which rethinks the subject of eternity through three different interpretations: nature, knowledge and humanity, understood as the relationship between human beings and eternity.

A jaunt
Daniele De Luigi meets Elena Arzuffi to talk about A jaunt, the project created by the artist specially for Fotografia Europea for the Reggio Emilia district of Gattaglio.

Standby
Antonello Frongia introduces Standby, the work of the two Swiss artists Goran Galić and Gian-Reto Gredig, a research project using photography and video to narrate today's working environment in the territory of Reggio Emilia.
