What does an empty museum, portrayed in the radical nudity of its walls, express? A museum deprived of its exhibitive function, and therefore of its very sense? Maybe, it expresses itself: the place in which art takes place and which has a very intimate relationship with art. The photographic work which Giuseppe Pietroniro has been working on for the past few years, “Interni”, is destabilising, because it takes away what seems to be a museum’s raison d’être. But, maybe, because of this, it opens up another perspective beyond time and the use we are accustomed to associating with it.
