Katy Couprie
Tout un monde - Tutto un mondo

Art workshops for children and kids
from 5 to 15 years old

curated by Giannino Stoppani Cooperativa Culturale

In the exhibition hall in piazza Fontanesi, the works of Katy Couprie, French photographer and illustrator, will be shown. Her photography is to be looked at, experimented, used, along a path which transfers suggestion and inventions, along with illustrations, in a book, not a catalogue of objects and subjects but rather a thought which proceeds through the pages, following a thin red thread. Katy Couprie was born in 1966 in Fontenay-aux-Roses. In 1990 she graduated from the ENSAD in Paris, where she worked with various artistic techniques, then she went on studying photography in Chicago. Katy Couprie considers the children’s book as a space of great freedom and creation. Her first editorial experience was an album without words, made of photographs, in which the sequences are constructed according to a very simple structure. Since the publication in 1999 of Tout un monde she has regularly collaborated with Antonin Louchard for Thierry Magnier, creating “imagiers” and chunky board books.
