Marco Signorini

Sinagoga
30 April - 7 June 2009
with texts by Paola Capriolo

1_EARTH, 2008

In this Earth research, still in progress, Marco Signorini continues the course of a work started in a previous piece called Echo, investigating an absolute, undefined time dimension, and the ways it is mirrored in landscapes and human lives.
Signorini understands the complexity of the contemporary anthropised landscape, the city and its outskirts, and in past works has analysed its spaces and shapes. For a few years now, he  has drawn  his attention towards the greatness of nature, now far away from us, reduced to an image of the wonderful. But with his orientation towards the origins of the landscape he has not abandoned the themes related to contemporaneity:  on the contrary, he found the way to a reflection on our difficult, suspended existence in today’s world, on the presence of man in a large, global, doubtful world. (From a text by Roberta Valtorta, catalogue of the exhibition 1_Earth, 2008, Manzoni Gallery, Bergamo)
