Fotografia italiana

Italian photography: 8 films for 8 photographers

Fotografia Italiana (Italian photography) is a series of documentary films dedicated to the most internationally renowned Italian photographers – a set of very different artists in terms of their styles and poetics and therefore capable of conveying the complexity and quality of Italian expression in the field of photography.
Each film has a distinctive style and atmosphere consistent with the individual personality of the featured artists, who talk about themselves and their work. For each photographer, indoor shots, taken in their studios and in the darkroom, alternate with outdoor shots of the places most significant for their personal history, chronicling their individual story with the support of photographs.

The Fotografia Italiana series is produced by the independent production company Giart - Visioni d’arte from Bologna (directed by Giampiero D’Angeli, subject and interviews by Alice Maxia, production Luca Molducci). The films have been sponsored by the Bologna Film Library and are distributed in DVD format in bookshops by Contrasto.
