The show reproduces the repertoire of the most significant nineteenth-century folk songs, interpreted by a large body of artists, including musicians and folk singers. It revisits the events and vicissitudes of a country in the making and undergoing transformation through the many dialects, voices and musical expressions that so intimately characterised the entire period of Italy’s nation-building history.
With guest performers Peppe Servillo and Angela Baraldi, this is the first ever preview of an original production, with video screenings of images retrieved from the history archive of the Photo Library of the Panizzi Library.
