DIALOGO DEI CORPI

“In my first work on the art of places I visited museums - places that not only stratify pieces of art, but which are also fascinating repositories of emotions. I designed a fine light on an indissoluble copy, artefact and visitor. I then emptied these places of visitors and immersed myself in a silent world of imaginary movements: the mysterious gesture of hands, curls falling over a shoulder, the modest movement of a veil. I tried to re-write their story and give life to these faces and bodies from the past once more. The use of a Polaroid that develops photos immediately produces small formats with an intimate vision of the subject; it defines the forms you shoot and allows you to see whether the test matches the emotions you’ve just experienced on the spot. The shoot wasn’t carried out by following academic clichés, but with an aesthetic choice in which figures communicate and exchange looks of complicity, repeating the gestures that are part of their history”. (Bruno Cattani)
