The joint exhibition of the European project SETSE , European Family and Food - Eight photographic commissions, organised by Elio Grazioli - is the presentation of a selection of images taken by photographers that took part in the project centred on the exchange of public and residence commissions. The exhibition is intended as a moment of reflection on photography as a language that crosses through art and society. The topic chosen - European Family and Food – is the frame within which the authors move about to point out and look into the social, cultural, religious and anthropological aspect of society in the perspective of the foreigner that watches, observes and studies the changes and describes them, to then give them back through the photograph.
It is possible to also see eight videos at the exhibit venue. They contain the complete documentation produced by the various authors, who in first person tell the story of their photographic projects. In this way the visitor has the chance to become acquainted with the complexity of the various photographic research studies conducted, the criteria that guided the work and the methods with which the artists have put themselves to the test in a challenge that is both conceptual and technical. The travelling exhibit, inaugurated in Reggio Emilia at Fotografia Europea 2010, is being offered again in Valencia in September.
